If money were no object, on deeper pitting, would it be better to clean the part, then plate in copper and grind the copper back to essentially fill the corrosion without removing as much material?

Hello. I want to make a transaction regarding my motorcycle. However, I cannot tell whether the coating is chrome or nickel plated. Decorative chrome plating may also be under nickel plating. Should I prepare a separate solution for both or is there a solution that removes both at the same time? Finally, do I need to do chrome plating over nickel plating to get a very shiny appearance? Because I also want it to be durable.

Its even better and high quality chrome than the Honda factory version

Is there any particular product that you would recommend to keep your Chrome looking that shiny? I have a Harley-Davidson and I am always wiping down my Chrome. Really enjoyed your video. I most definitely gave you a big old thumbs up and I hit the subscribe button.

I have never seen a so long process to renicle a thin steel plate. But as is goes....the longer time is paytime.

I think 'Replace' rather than restore should have been used. I was staggered when the parts were first shown. I thought He's not going to restore that lot. I still watched it through.

Alan that was truly an epic job involving the sciences of physics and chemistry to restore a very large and decrepit part. Combined with that the skilled metal working processes which would be classed as mechanical engineering. As with all metal working, things happen quickly/dynamically, whether it be a hammer blow, grinding it, machining it or welding it etc. All of it takes great skill. It is all very clever stuff , and educational, that you show us. I want to thank you for sharing this content. I must also say that the standard of your filming, editing and production content is of a very high standard which I find not only informative but enjoyable to watch. A fantastic result all round. Good video. People often don't realize the huge amount of time and effort required to restore and rechrome old parts, and how that affects the cost.

Great video! I've noticed that sometimes on rechromed bumpers, although they are nice and shiny etc, there is a certain 'wavyness' to the reflection when you look at the reflection of say a corrugated (patterned)roof above. Almost like the thicknes of the copper/chrome varies slightly across the surface & makes the reflection a bit 'hall of mirrors'. Have you ever seen that, & know what causes it?

I have a Nishiki 🚲 made in Kawamura Japan. Any methods thst dont require steel wool....or could I use a cotton cloth with the first product you used as to not damge further?

I think you may need to do a follow up video on these and explain how they ended up so bad in the first place, and what is the correct method to protect the chrome finish to make them last.
